The Thymes Frasier Fir candle doesn’t quite convince you that there’s a fir tree in the corner, but it proposes the idea. The smell is of “crisp Siberian Fir needles, heartening cedar wood and relaxing sandalwood.” In simple English, this candle defines fresh.

This 6.5 ounce candle will burn for 35-40 hours. A veteran fan offers some shrewd, money-saving advice: “The trick is to only burn it for 15-20 minutes and then blow it out. The scent will linger all night, and you save the candle.” [To buy this candle for $32 from Amazon, click here.]

Thymes also sells a Frasier Fir 3 Wick Candle. 17 ounces. Burn time: 100 hours. $60. [To buy it from Amazon, click here.]

Or consider Diptyque candles, which are light years from the Sierras. Once again, light it, let it burn for as while, then blow it out; the goodness remains. To read my praise for Diptyque, click here.
